Tamil Cinema has seen a record number of releases in 2010. 150 Tamil films released in the year out of which currentweek is listing the top 10 grossers. The list has been compiled from trade sources in distribution and exhibition.
The estimated box-office revenue figures mentioned are approximate and put together from Indian domestic theatrical collections, overseas, audio, home video and television rights and other sources. It need not be exactly correct and may vary. A film which collects two or more times its budget is a blockbuster.

The film was dubbed in Telugu and Hindi. The film made highest collections in Telugu and 3rd highest collections in Bollywood i.e. in Hindi version. Overall Enthiran made highest collections in Indian Film industry with Rs 400 crore.
The film was released with 2250 Prints and released over 4000 screens worldwide, which is a record in Indian film history.

Later the film was dubbed in Telugu and released as “Aavara” which again a super hit in Tollywood Industry and stood 2nd best dubbed movie in Tollywood Industry.

‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ is a complete love story from a action films director. This is a bilingual movie and released in Telugu as Yee Mayachesava, which is a blockbuster. Naga Chaitanya son of Nagarjuna and Samantha played lead roles in the Telugu version. Samantha became dream girl to youth and became star over night after releasing this movie.
Apart from these, two other movies ‘Madhrasapattinam,’ and ‘Mynaa had done good business at Box-office. Madhrasapattinam got hit tag, with a budget of around Rs14 Crore, the film collected Rs 17 Crores. Whereas the low budget movie Mynna, collected Rs 15 Crore and became blockbuster movie.
The other low budget films like Tamil Padam , Angadi Theru, and Kalavani had done good business at box-office. The movie Angadi Theru was dubbed into Telugu and released as Shopping Mall which has done good business at box-office.
